Have high school sports become irrelevant to college recruiters?

Ran across this article this morning over coffee.  Recruiting them younger and younger is a way of life.  It’s been happening since Lane Kiffin offered a 7th grader a scholarship when he was the head coach at USC (the west coast version, NOT the Gamecocks).  My opinion?  Really simple.  If you offer them in the 7th grade, you ought to have to honor that offer when they graduate.  Even if they turn out to not be such a great player.

Anyway, just something I saw this morning.  Don’t you wish it was baseball season so I would not have so much time on my hands?
