STARKVILLE, Miss. — Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) announced Tuesday it will be providing live television coverage of all of the games of this week’s NCAA Atlanta Regional.
Mississippi State takes on instate rival Southern Miss at 2 p.m. (CDT) in the opening game of the double-elimination regional tournament at Georgia Tech’s Russ Chandler Stadium. Host Georgia Tech meets Austin Peay in the 6 p.m. (CDT) contest. Game times (CDT) are set for 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the “if necessary” Monday game set for 6 p.m.
Matt Stewart and Brian Jordan will be the talent for the telecasts.
Comcast Sports Southeast, based in Atlanta, Ga., serves six million cable subscribers in 12 states and this season televised four Mississippi State baseball games.
Sophomore lefty Luis Pollorena (6-5, 4.44) of Laredo, Texas, will open on the mound in Mississippi State’s first NCAA Tournament game since advancing to the 2007 NCAA College World Series. USM will counter with senior right-hander Todd McInnis (8-2, 2.61).
Mississippi State closes out Starkville preparations for the Atlanta Regional Wednesday with a 2 p.m. practice at Dudy Noble Field before traveling on to Atlanta. The team is scheduled to practice Thursday in Atlanta from 12-1:20 p.m. (CDT) at Russ Chandler Stadium.
