STARKVILLE – The Southeastern Conference office and ESPN have announced the television coverage for the 2021 baseball season, with Mississippi State slated for at least 11 appearances on the ESPN family of networks.
The SEC schedule will open in front of a national audience on Friday, Mach 19 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as MSU will face off with LSU on the SEC Network at Alex Box Stadium.
The next three national broadcasts will originate from the Carnegie Hall of College Baseball, starting with the series finale against Arkansas on the SEC Network. The March 28 contest against the Razorbacks is the first of three straight televised SEC games for MSU, as the opening two games of the Kentucky series will be on ESPNU (Thursday, April 1) and the SEC Network (Friday, April 2), respectively.
A series finale at Auburn will air on the SEC Network at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, before the series opener against in-state rival Ole Miss goes live on the SEC Network at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 16.
Two preseason top 10 teams tangle in a pair of national TV broadcasts on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24 in Nashville, Tennessee. Mississippi State will travel to Vanderbilt for the first time since its 2018 NCAA Super Regional victory to face off with Commodores on the SEC Network (7 p.m.) and ESPNU (7 p.m.), respectively.
Texas A&M travels to Starkville for a Friday, May 2 matchup on the SEC Network, before MSU’s series finale at South Carolina is carried on the conference’s flagship network.
A schedule change highlights the final planned national TV broadcast, as ESPNU will broadcast State’s series opener against Missouri on Thursday, May 13. The series will move from Friday-Sunday to Thursday-Saturday.
The final weekend of the regular season will feature a select number of wildcard matchups, with Mississippi State traveling to Alabama May 20-22 for its final three games of the regular season.
