STARKVILLE – Mississippi State graduate student baseball student-athlete Scotty Dubrule has been named one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2021 College World Series® in June, following a nationwide voting system distributed to media, coaches, and fans, who will select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four C’s of community, classroom, character, and competition. Fan voting is open, and can be found here.

The graduate transfer from Jacksonville has appeared in 45 games with 39 starts at second base for the Diamond Dawgs. A .278 batting average is boosted by a .388 on-base percentage, as he has posted 40 hits and walked 25 times this season.

The left-handed hitter spent his first four college seasons at Jacksonville University where he was a two-time All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection and finished among the career leaders in hits (No. 7; 249). While at JU, Dubrule earned his degree in sports business and is now working towards his master’s degree in workforce education leadership.

To be eligible for the Senior CLASS Award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
