Bulldogs and Golden Eagles move game to Wednesday, March 3 due to forecasted weather in the area on Tuesday

STARKVILLE – Spectrum Events announced on Monday (March 1) that the No. 2 Mississippi State baseball program’s neutral site contest with Southern Miss at Trustmark Park in Pearl has been moved to Wednesday, March 3 at 6 p.m. due to the forecasted weather moving through the area early in the week.

The Diamond Dawgs and Golden Eagles were slated to play on Tuesday, March 2, but wet weather will move through the area over the next 48 hours, prompting the move. Ticketholders should use their same tickets for Wednesday night’s game at 6:00 p.m. at Trustmark Park.

State (5-2) climbed in the rankings for the second straight week after its win over Jackson State in a midweek contest and a series victory over Tulane that saw MSU walk off the Green Wave in each of the last two contests. MSU is currently ranked No. 2 by Baseball America, with the remaining polls slated for release on Monday.

Southern Miss (4-3) took two of three games from UCONN over the weekend. The Golden Eagles rallied for a victory in the series opener, before holding off the Huskies’ late rally in game two. UCONN won the series finale, 10-7.
